The Knife - A constant companion

DSC_9488.JPG

I cannot remember a day, or if I can, not very many where I have not used a knife to do something. To say a good quality knife is worth its weight in gold, would be wrong. Because been caught out in the woods with a bar of gold would not be my first choice. I would rather have a knife. My knives is what it is - full of character, practical, blessed by fire and made with love and respect. I take my time and put lots of effort into making a very usefull, sharp and handy knife.

Forged  to provide food, either hunting, camping, cooking, or to work hard on the homestead, and to provide you some comfort when alone in the woods.

The Home-Steader
This little knife is based on the Scandinavian Puukko. Blade lengths from 3.5" to 6". It has no finger guard  or ricasso (trasition from handle to blade) and is a very versatile knife. Whether your are skinning your harvest, carving a spoon or feathering kindling, the HomeSteader can do the job and more.

  • Hand stitched leather sheath.

  • CND $ 100.  (Shipping not included)

Shell River Valley Explorer
The Shell River Valley Explorer pays homage to the area where I live in Manitoba. A slight finger guard is forged into the knife for some extra peace of mind. Oversized finger guards get into the way when you are skinning or for general bush craft. But on this hunting knife, it is subtle enough to protect and be versatile. Blade lengths from 3.5" to 6"

Celtic Steel Knife

The all steel knife is probably the first type of steel knife forged by man as they progressed from the Bronze age. I try and forge my Celtic Steel Knife with a general shape in mind, but I do follow what the steel wants to become. A very functional knife, light in hand and definitely something else.  Blade lengths from 3.5" to 6"

Harvester Knife

After a long day spend in nature or a successful harvest, it is time to relax by the fire and prepare some food for your soul and body.  Based on the sheep's foot profile, this camp/kitchen knife is ideal for food preparation. If you need a great camp knife, I beef up the spine and you will have a very versatile chopper/kitchen knife.
